What is txKit?

txKit is an open transaction-safety primitive for Web3. It decodes, previews, and simulates any transaction before it is signed. Apache 2.0 SDK plus an optional hosted verification SaaS.

Does txKit hold private keys?

Accepted Answer

No. txKit never holds keys. It sits on the pre-signing layer between transaction producers (AI agents, dApp UI, multisig coordinators) and signers (wallets, OWS, hardware devices). The user always signs in their own wallet.

How is txKit different from RainbowKit or Web3Modal?

Accepted Answer

RainbowKit and Web3Modal handle wallet connection. txKit handles what happens after connection: decoding calldata, simulating outcomes, surfacing risk, and coordinating multi-step transaction flows. txKit works alongside any wallet connector.

What standards does txKit implement?

Accepted Answer

CAIP-2 chain identifiers, EIP-5792 batched calls, EIP-712 typed-data signatures, ERC-7730 clear signing, and ERC-7715 wallet capabilities. The PreparedTx envelope is an open spec.

Accepted Answer

Yes. All @txkit/* npm packages are Apache 2.0 forever. A hosted verification service (verify.txkit.dev) is in closed beta and will be metered when generally available.
